Dec. 11th 2008 Heritage Rink Duluth, MN
Central was playing just their second game at the brand new rink. After a 6-1 win at Silver Bay Tuesday night the Troy Boys did not want the momentum to end, especially in front of the home crowd. Proctor entered tonight's match-up with a 1-1 record and had just suffered a loss at home to Cloquet. The Rails jumped out with an early 1-0 lead but Central would score the next three goals and grab a 3-1 lead late in the 3rd period. Proctor was perhaps stronger than Central, but just could not get the bounce they needed against Trojan net-minder Matt Erickson until late in the game with an extra attacker. Central seemed to be running out of gas and allowed Proctor to tie the score forcing the first OT game at Heritage Rink. With the Troy Boys on the power play Senior-Blaze Campanella scored one of the biggest goals of his high school career in the overtime period. Troy 4 Proctor 3!
