The web has been buzzing over the last day with reports that Nike may finally be releasing the famed MAG shoes featured in 1989's "Back to the Future Part II." YouTube user DocEmmetBrown88 posted a video on Tuesday called "McFly's Closet," which features row upon row of shoes closely resembling those worn by Michael J. Fox's character, Marty McFly. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that looks like shelves and shelves of 2011 Nike MAG shoes," the YouTube description reads. And last night, Nike invited Matt Halfhill at Nice Kicks to Los Angeles for "a big announcement" on Thursday. He's posted pictures of Back to the Future goodies, including metal-shield glasses and retro Pepsi, he received in his gift box.

Halfhill wrote: "When Nike gives you a call at midnight, you know it's something good. With just a few hours notice Nike flew me out to LA for "a big announcement." When they won't tell you what it is until you get there, you know it's something bigger than a new colorway of Dunks."

The rumors began last year when documents leaked online showing the blueprints for the Nike Air Mags that were registered with the US Patent Office. No word yet on how much the high-tech, power-laced shoes will cost, but it's a good bet they won't be cheap. Now when the heck are we going to get our Hoverboards? So what do you think? Will you be buying a pair of Marty McFly's shoes? And do you think they will ever make a real-life Hoverboard? Leave a comment below and let us know.

  • @Garother Nah! :-/

  • @Krrrimmi 2011 they sold around 6000 shoes and made 3 million dollars. so they must be expensive still if you want the original pair

  • anything to make a quick buck ppl are stupid

  • The original shoes without the lights and with a more simple design seem nicer.

  • There will be hoverboards sometime Maybe not in 2015 but sometime in the 21st century. for proof look up "Scientists Develop Magnetic Force Field " and you will find that British scientists developed a magnetic force field.
