Well friends and fans...I'm getting faster.
This trip to Willow I had two of my fastest laps to date: two 1:41s
When I first started doing track days, my best times were in the mid 1:50s.
The time before this, I made a huge improvement with a few 1:45s.
Now comes the hard work. Shaving off 1 second at a time by braking later, carrying more speed, and getting on the throttle sooner, and finding better lines.

The bike is a 2007 Yamaha R1 with Graves cat back exhaust and an ECUnleashed custom-tuned ECU. Other than that, it's bone stock. Well, the slicks help too.

This is on the "Big Track" (2.5 miles) at Willow Springs in Rosamond, CA on April 3rd 2010.

Music by Boards of Canada "Turquoise Hexagon Sun" off the album "Music Has the Right to Children"

Made possible by Motoyard Track Days ( http://www.motoyard.com ). These track days are life-changing. The staff and fellow riders are extremely helpful and accommodating, as well as organized. With out a doubt, Motoyard track days are the best place to become a better rider.

the "ECU Unleashed" without a doubt makes me faster. It's tuned to give me less engine braking which helps me SOOOO much go into turns more confidently, smoothly, and most important...with the nose up.
The added horsies help down the straights too. Overall, just makes the bike feel less restricted.

The camera used is a 720p VholdR ContourHD

Feel free to discuss my "opportunities for improvement." I know I need to brake later into turn 1 (and carry more speed), and stay on the gas more through 8. Would be nice to have a slight/smooth throttle increase from 1 into 2. Keep in mind the winds were gusting up to 30mph. But that's no excuse!
