I love this 31 trap play. If you keep pounding the offense with 16 power, the defense is going to overcompensate. Then as you sell the 16 Power fake actions, it's money on the weakside. 43 Counter is also a money play off this same premise. The way I liken it is to that of a boxer. The power is the jab punch and the trap / counter is the knockout punch!

works well when set up with plays to strong side. I had a hard time keeping my 4 back to cut sharp upfield. "No blockers" backside. If the boys run great fakes, it can work well. With 9 year olds, we used the WB reverse to go opposite, but the 31 was always good for tuff yards off weakside. I tried to use the 1&2 backs as lead blocks, but the misdirection works much better. great play and video ...
