(Garvey)
Today is the first day of the rest of my life, I wake as a child to see the world begin.
On monarch wings and birthday wonderings, want to put on faces, walk in the wet and cold.
And look forward to my growing old, to grow is to change, to change is to be new,
to be new is to be young again, I barely remember when.
My memories are stolen by the morning, blotted out by the suns hypnotic eye.
I'll abide the sun's hypnotic eye.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life, I wake as a child to see the world begin.
On monarch wings and birthday wonderings, want to put on faces, walk in the wet and cold.
And look forward to my growing old.

  • @tangkai99

ooo, so good, and so true, from a lonely Buckeye

  • yesterday is history

    tomorrow is a mystery

and today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

  • @RAIN12FORD I was told today AGAIN that I have to completely change life as I know it if I want to start feeling better. .. It's like. . . where do you begin after 43 years? Well, with what I hope is a commitment came the memory of this song and it's message .. floored me it was actually posted and I did not have to go on a dig to find the lp. Anyway. . I am with you. A great loss. Really I cannot listen to this man without thinking .. .. of his demise. .

  • This song is also called (sugacity) taken from John Denver's first solo album 'Rhymes and Reasons' produced in 1969. I was lucky enough to see John five times in concert, including his last ever concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. A sad loss to this world.

  • So Lovely!!!!!! Thanks for a JD I haven't heard before. A treat!!!!

Frankie :-) From your friend in Florida.
