  • meery christmas and RIP John Charles Daly, Dorothy Kilgallen, Arlene Francis, Bennett Cerf...and the rest of the WML greats..

  • It was Dorothy who said flip the cards, John, my treat. That was a very nice gesture.

I don't think I've ever seen a woman play the trombone before. Funny, no?

  • To pyrofella: Your comment has what to do with anything?

  • As we say here in Australia.."God bless the Salvos"....the only religion that does not care who you are, what color you are or what God you believe in....they will will always help you out...

  • In those days.... every quiz show, situation comedy, drama or variety show would have a Christmas show every year. And no one minded. No one ever complained.

    It was a better time.

  • @jukeboxman1950 Last time I looked there are a lot of great Christmas programs on TV every year. And, people all over the country say Merry Christmas every year. Your comment seems more like you are angry at people then a comment on what really happens every year in December. Please relax and enjoy your religion and don't lash out at others.

  • This is Fred Allen's last Christmas with us. RIP to that great wit

  • What class and live on Christmas night no less how the hell did we ever get so far away from a world such as this?

  • @TheBlueyedblond Thats the truth, it's a shame people let it happen. I always say Merry Christmas & if some people don't like it thats just too bad. What comes around goes around & one day the nut cases in the ACLU will get there's!!!!!

  • @TheBlueyedblond Not true. WML is not a government agency. And the guests aren't violating any workplace rights pertaining to the panel and staff. So the ACLU would have no interest in the matter. As far as I know, atheists (and many believers too) only protest carols when they are performed in public schools. The parties you mention have no influence over the religious content of broadcast tv programs. Not then and not now.

  • Wow! THey played beautifully!

  • I love it when John does what I call Dally Doubletalk.
