I'm scared. Have sore on neck, saw dermatologist yesterday now I'm scheduled to cut the spot out which is half the size of an eraser, he drew on paper the size and shape of a human eye which is what he is going to take out and said would have 5 of 6 stitches then will send that to pathology. This seems pretty radical to cut a big hole in a woman's neck before knowing for sure it is cancer. Which tells me he knows from experience it IS cancer and is taking the whole area to prevent spreading.

@Bombeni I have had the same treatments done for what are called pre-cancerous objects. Don't be alarmed until your path comes back saying it's malignant melanoma. This is the most serious and needs the most treatment. There are many types of skin cancer that only need one removal and you're done with it. Just clear your mind and wait on the results.

Oh wow, you are a wonderful person for making this video. You should send this to Amer. Cancer Society, maybe they would distribute it. There needs to be a major awareness campaign about melanoma. I have two spots have to have removed soon, had no idea it is this traumatic. One is on my neck! The sad part is these first appeared over a year ago and I blew it off as some kind of psoriasis or eczema or something. Now I have lost 30 pounds rapidly and am sick as a dog, too late for me I think.

But for an experienced Derm. to be willing to cut a large hole in a woman's neck (the front) tells me he is more than 50 % certain it is cancer and wants to gget it out all at once. I tried to pin him down and he just patted me and smiled and said "we will know when we know" -- this is a very confident doc. He's the type you couldn't beg borrow or steal a test or whatever if YOU wanted one, yet he is going the full radical treatment. I'm scared, real scared.

@AmaindeJH Yea it's a shame there isnt more focus in the media on this type of cancer because many people find out to late after it has spread into many regions of the body or metastisized and they have to get full treatments for something easy to avoid or easy to treat if caught soon enough
