@Roxxoxo That is so true what you said because I read that in the Bible too. Soul is not an invisible force that comes out of people when they die. A soul is a person or animal. It is a living thing. Soul is a life force or something that keeps an object operating. For example, if I unplug a fan, it is going to stop working.

The other definition of "soul." Besides meaning a person or animal, soul can also mean our life. When Jesus died, he poured out his very soul (life) to death--IS53:12. Matt10:28--destroy both soul (life) & body in Gehenna.
In the Bible, soul is never described as an immortal ghost that leaves the body.
We are not immortal; we can die. Immortality is a reward--1Cor15:53,54.

What is the soul? 1st definition. Gen 2:7 says that God formed Adam & blew into his nose the breath (spirit) of life & Adam BECAME a living soul. Adam wasn't given a soul, he became a living soul. When Adam died, he became a dead soul. (Yes, souls die--Ezek 18:4) I am a soul. You are a soul. Animals are souls.
Spirit is the life force that animates us. Spirit is found in all of our cells. (A viable heart, example, has spirit & can be used for transplant). W/o spirit, we die--PS146:4.

Hellfire. Do a search on the Net of GEHENNA & you will see that where some Bible translations use the term "hellfire," the actual word should be "Gehenna" (not Hades/Hell). Gehenna was a garbage dump outside Jerusalem & brimstone (sulphur) was used to keep the fires burning to consume the trash. Where the fires did not reach, maggots would live--Mark9:43-48. Jesus used this place to illustrate everlasting destruction, aka lake of fire, second death.
The Bible does not say Hellfire.
