@Offshore1875 Caliber 2500 is based on an ETA 2892-A2, but
not much remains of that familiar workhorse
when Omega gets through with it. The caliber
has been given a new bridge for its self-winding
mechanism, a coaxial escapement, and
two tiny screws on the rim of its balance to allow
a watchmaker to finely adjust the oscillator’s
pulse rate.
In short, it's much better than the Rolex movt.

Smart money is on the Omega. Better lines, equal or better build, and superior value.
Rolex pricing is half workmanship and materials and half hype and superb marketing.
