  • Can anybody tell me what's the title of the piece? Is it Rachmaninoff's?

  • Rachmaninoff Third Concerto

  • thanks for posting it!I love him!

I hope i can see the part 1 and 2~

  • yeah about that. I've tried re-uploading it but Youtube keep rejecting it for copyright infringement (which is technically correct, but why don't they take the rest down then?).

  • thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks you!!! :D

  • no worries, congrats on making it to the end, twice it would seem. ;)

  • This was just amazing...I think anyone would agree with his comments about how Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto 3 can be played....Leif Ove Andsnes is a genius. I saw Leif play in London March 09....outstanding, we were all blown away

    .

I didn't like the comment from that 'Tom Hanks' lookalike after the concert ....about 'missing a certain deeper romanticism' ...if he didn't have his head up his ar$e...then he would have heard it....

  • I think Andsnes gives the best performance of this work - I prefer him to Argerich, Horowitz, et al by some distance. I admire so much the way he thinks about the work, and those thoughts really come through in the performance itself. Amazing.

  • It would be so amazing if ITV or Andsnes released the footage of the entire concerto - I really think from the bits they included here that it'd be better than his two CD recordings or the other video recording on YouTube. Maybe one day...

  • @tonycums2

    he is NOT a genius....

    Volodos maybe,.

  • His playing of Rach No.3 is the best version I've ever heard in my entire life.

  • GREAT!!!!!

  • I need to know! What is this music? WOW!!!!

  • I soooo agree with that. The third concerto is definitely much more a symphonic piece and pianists tend way to much to play it like it's all about them. There's so much more in this work, and it's worth so much more than that.
