"Grace! Wait!" I heard from across the street. I turned around and saw Joe jogging across the street and race over to me. "Ill come on one condition: I take the picture. I am NOT in the picture in any way, shape or form. Got it?" I moved my hand like I was saluting him.
"Yes sir!" And saluted him. He chuckled and then I gave Joe my camera and we approached the Naked Cowboy, who was now playing on his guitar.
"Hey there, pretty lady. Whats your name?" He said as a breeze blew his long blonde hair behind him. He was such a good looking man, but way too old for me.
"Grace." He smiled and nodded.
"Grace. You have a beautiful face. You dont wear lace...And I dont know what else rhymes with Grace. But, you are beautiful. Wanna picture with me?" I chuckled and nodded. I walked over to him and then took a normal picture with him, one of us grabbing the others butt, other poses and I noticed that Joe was quite the jealous one. I could just read his eyes...and they were daggers at the Naked Cowboy. He reluctantly took all of the pictures and then others were coming over.
"Thank you so much for the pictures!" I said after the 10th picture. He smiled and gave me a hug.
"Oh, thank you Grace. And...is that your boyfriend?" OH MY GOSH. WHAT IS IT WITH PEOPLE THINKING ME AND JOE ARE TOGETHER?!?! GOSH. I shook my head.
"No. We are just friends."
"Oh. Because it seems like he likes you a lot." He whispered to me. I nodded.
"I know. I knew a few days ago." He nodded, gave me a kiss on the cheek and released me to Joe. I walked over to Joe and smiled at him, trying to make Joe feel better. He probably feels so down right now. I saw the look on his face and my heart went out to him...I felt bad for looking like a fool with the Naked Cowboy and he had to take pictures for me. "Joe, are you ok?" He faked a smile, but I knew he wasnt happy at the moment. I just...knew.
"Yeah. Im fine. Just a little tired, thats all." I furrowed my eyebrows and then decided to drop it.
"Oh. Ok. Do you wanna sit somewhere and grab some coffee?" I asked. He smiled and nodded and we saw that a Starbucks was right there. So, we crossed the busy streets of New York and made it to Starbucks. We would have fought over who would pay, but we just decided to pay for our own for right now. Thank goodness. I dont want to upset him anymore than I already did. I feel so guilty, its almost unbearable. We found a seat by the window and took the seat quickly. We were silent for the first couple of minutes and I just gazed outside, sipping my Vanilla Bean Frap. I looked back at him and he was doing the same thing I was doing. I just looked at his features more closely...the way his hair was in his eyes...the way his chocolate eyes moved as people walked by...his muscular hand holding his face in its palm. Oh no...did I really just think those things? Oh great.
He looks at me and then notices me staring at him. He moved his bangs out of his face with his free hand and smiled at me.
"What? Do I have a milk mustache?" He moved his pointer finger to his upper lip and gently glided it along it, as if trying to get the milk off. WOAH. I totally just explained something someone who has a crush on someone does. Theres no way....but...can it be? I mean....I feel obnoxiously guilty for making Joe stand there while I was being a fool in the middle of Times Square with the Naked Cowboy...I just described one simple movement in obnoxious detail...No. I cant like him...but...GAH.
"No." I replied finally. "Youre fine. I just...stared off into space. Sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable." He shook his head and smiled at me.
"Its ok. You didnt make me feel uncomfortable at all."
"Yeah, but I did before." He furrowed his eyebrows and I continued. "I shouldnt have dragged you along to see the Naked Cowboy. I mean...I was acting like an idiot and a slut in the middle of Times Square in front of hundreds of people. And you were there, being the photographer. Im sorry. I really am. I feel really guilty for being so selfish and stupid. I shouldnt ha-" And he put his finger on my lips. I felt that spark again when he touched them.
"Grace. I get it. You are forgiven. And I understand. Ive been like that before with Schuyler, so now I know how she feels. And Im usually really selfish...I guess that should probably change. I mean...I always talk about myself, think about myself, except for recently, do things for m-" and I put a finger on his lips. From what I felt, they were soft and smooth. I looked at him and then snapped back into reality by a drill going off by the door.
"I get it, Joe. I can be the same way." I said through his finger. He didnt remove his finger and I didnt remove mine. He looked into my eyes and I got lost into his.
Does this mean...I have a crush on Joe Jonas, the boy that hated me at the beginning of the school year?
