  • Ryan, Thank you for sharing this deeply personal letter with us. I know when you decide to give it to your mom she will need time to accept it. She will I pray be accepting and supportive realizing how much you mean to her. She may be upset with her self for not seeing your pain and the thought of almost losing you forever. Your family will need time to accept the facts just as you have, please let them have it. Stay strong and true to yourself.

  • That sounded great...I'm sure your mom is going to take it as well as she possibly can based on what you wrote. If you need more help then check out the video "High School Senior "Comes Out" in Assembly"

That's what I based the letter to MY parents on.

  • Stay strong brother.

  • I commented earlier, and after thinking about something you said - 'I believe that if you're a guy, you should act like one,' I'm back to add a thought about it. That's exactly what I thought for years, but I've come to believe that if he is not hurting others by it, a guy should behave the way he is comfortable behaving. For you (and for me) that means masculine mannerisms and activities, but other guys who might come across as more effeminate or 'flamboyant' are not necessarily 'acting.'

  • Good luck with coming out to your mom :) Hope all goes well.

  • @ry989 You are very welcome

  • Coming out is always difficult, but I think this letter shows just how mature and thoughtful you are. I think your Mom will be able to accept it. Hang tough man, and keep us posted.
