Duuk Bok Gi is probably the most popular street food in Korea. The tenderness of rice cakes meets the sweet and spicy taste of red chilli pepper paste. It's usually eaten as a snack but it can be served as an appetizer or even a meal.

There is no doubt this will satisfy your stomach and your soul. What's amazing is it's so easy and quick to make too. Enjoy!

Depends on how authentic you want it. I think chicken or beef stock will work fine, definitely better than just water but it wouldn't be exactly the same taste as the typical dduk bok gi. Happy cooking!

You can try a few things. Try to use less broth. Maybe you have too much broth compare to the ricecake and fishcake. Make sure when you add the rice cake and the rest, the broth is already boiling. OR try boiling on high heat in the beginning making sure you are stirring then lower to med heat so the liquid evaporates faster. Also, make sure your lid id NOT on while cooking for this dish. OR You an also try adding rice cake after boiling with seasoning and fishcake for a while. Good luck!

Thanks! You can use any fish stock or even beef/chicken stock. But, it wouldn't taste exactly like the authentic one. You don't have access to anchovies?

No You don't have to but you should use the anchovy broth for the best taste.
