  • Hi, I am wondering about Silver DVD case inside. If you were to take it out and put it on the shelf with your collection would it be the same height as regular DVD cases, or is it awkwardly tall?

  • It's a little bit oversized, but it would fit alright with regular sized cases. A bit bigger, but not too much.

  • when is this classic gowing to be relased on blue ray with both cuts If it wasent for this movie I wouldint know what to due with my life

  • Good question! Well, we're finally starting to see a trickling of Spielberg movies (Minority Report just came out, and Close Encounters has been available in a SUPERB deluxe Blu-ray set for a while now), so hopefully it won't be too long a wait.

  • So if you never went to see E.T. in 2002, and never actually watched the 2002 cut on the dvd, does that mean that you've never actually seen the 2002 version of E.T. ever? trust me it's not that bad when compared to the special edition of the star wars trilogy, which I also didn't mind that much.

  • Correct. But what I HAVE seen is the original 1982 version, when it was originally in theaters, on TV, on home video, etc. In my experience, the FBI agents have GUNS, not walkie talkies. The justification one way or the other doesn't really matter to me, the bottom line is the altered version isn't the E.T. I grew up with and remember. I'll watch it eventually just to have the experience, but the 1982 version will always be the definitive E.T. in my books.

  • I was born in February of 1982 and my mother tell me that come summer and autumn and the following next year when ET dolls where all over the stores I was extremely fascinated by them, so I can safely say I have been an ET fan all my life.

My hubby know the way to my heart to, he to know to buy me a new DVD instead of flowers or a game, or a science fiction or occult book or perhaps an action figure. And he can cook. Unfortunately I can't. :P

  • Woah you said that this originally sold for over $100! O.O

I can't believe that I bought this for only $15 bucks on eBay AND it was in absolutely perfect condition! I must be the luckiest buyer. :)
