  • I think that is great babyrose. Murry brought much joy to many people.

  • Sorry I've been away so long but had personal issues to deal with. Thanks for all the comments and I'm happy you enjoyed the song. CombineWizard, Murry was not the orginal singer but he did precede the Beach Boys version. Artists who recorded the song and years are :

    The Four Flickers - 1959

    Jerry Woodard - 1960

    Murry Kellum - 1963

    The Kingsmen - 1963

    The Beach Boys - 1964

  • so everyone in the comments knows this guy ? wtf . ok then he's my son . lol .

  • so today i was told i am his cousin. my mom attended his funeral. i think thats pretty cool kinda

  • Murry must have been the song's original singer, even before the Beach Boys version. This was my high school's theme song, but not alma mater.

  • I was so thrilled to find this on YouTube. Murry and I were friends back in the'80s and you couldn't hope for a better friend. Whenever I was in town he always took time to show this Norwegian around and to spend time in his home studio. After Murry's tragical plane crash in 1990 I never went back to Nashville. Rest in peace old friend.

  • That White Horse Reminds me of Mae , i use to LOVE riding her

  • Good Tune to dance too

  • I was stationed at Ft Hood, TX when this song was popular. We Gi's would sing it while in rank. Upset the DI very much. I did not know he had passed.

  • such a fun song that I haven't heard in decades until recently.I just had to search it.Great song..I love it all over again. Thanks for posting it.
