JS 5 - Conversation (Solo)

A monologue inspired by a friend of mine.
Apologies about the volume differences and weird noises from the camera. The music in the background comes from the local jazz station.

You found a job?

Man, that sucks.
I mean, it will totally mess up your insomnia.
Bosses nowadays have no respect
For disrupted sleep patterns.

I mean,
What are we artists supposed to do?
Its 3 am, what should I tell the muse?
Could you hold that thought, please?
Ive got work in the morning, ya know.

I dont think so.

And Ill tell you what
I cant believe your family
Want to tie you down
And turn you into
An honest man.

They just dont know you.
They dont respect your true nature.
They cannot grasp your beautiful gypsy spirit.

You
Speak easy
But you talk hard

Youre dangerous and damaged
But youre also a diehard dandy

Youre an old-fashioned romantic
But a fighter of stuck-up traditions

Youre a bit of a rebel
And definitely much of a devil

You are logically made
Of thousands of contradictions

And that
Is why I like you so much.
