PLEASE READ ~ In this video I will discuss the 10 pieces of gear that I consider essential in my kit. This is only my opinion based on my own personal experience. I have made this video as a suggestion only. The gear you choose may differ based on your region/climate, resources in your area, your own skills, etc. Each individual should give this topic some thought and decide for themselves what they consider to be their essentials based on these variables. The actually pieces I show are not meant to be a firm recommendation on any particular model or brand name but rather a suggestion on a category of items. Most of the time I do carry more than these 10 pieces of gear when I go into the wilderness, but this is an attempt to narrow down my kit to just bare essentials. Please feel free to comment. Part 2.

  • @Boss5414 Sometimes there are situations where you might not want to be seen. I can remember more than once when I was very thankful for my camo to keep me out of the sight of unfriendly eyes. If I am hunting small game for use as food, camo is better than orange as well. Stupid? I don't think so, we are just on a different wavelength I think.

  • i know what you mean i live in Colorado and no matter where in the Rockies you go there is always an abundance of brook trout

    great video

  • @riseofdixieland13 For me, fishing is a staple in my food source in the field. It is available year round and it is fairly easy to be successful as well. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • ummm Did I miss him saying he had a compas in there???? ONe of the most important things you can have. Maybe it would be number 11. I have one in my kit that is very similar to his.

  • @bwarrior I do carry a compass, I agree it is extremely important. However, I was in home territory the day I shot this so I didn't stress it. If you look at the pack in the video, you will see the compass in it's pouch on the front of the pack.

  • @bwarrior Thanks for mentioning it!

  • What would you carry on your person, (not in the bag) ??

  • Thanks for the great ideas. I hate negative people.

  • I don't really get the appeal of taking a fire steel with you. For the same amount of space and probably a lot lighter I could bring 3 or so butane lighters. You may say that those run out, but it's not like camping/hiking/climbing trips last more than a week or so. Buy at least 2 brand new lighters before beginning your trip and carry one on your person and one in your pack... That's just my opinion.

  • Could the mora companion work for the knife

  • thank you very much for this video :)

  • @PackRat556 but u should still cary orange tarp

  • Great vids brother. I've weeded through a lot of bushcraft on here and yours is definitely worth subscribing to.

  • YOU FORGOT YOUR GUN. BEARS DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT NONE OF THAT STUFF U JUST SHOWED...LOL GREAT VIDEO THO....

  • @BBoyEmanuel that may be true, but it that case its the patturn of the camo that breaks up your shape.

  • @PackRat556 as for hunting goes, most game animals (wild boars, deer etc) have black and white sight, so the camo is pretty much useless, unless you wanna stay hidden from humans, or full range sight predatory animals
