(Portland, ME - Selkirk, NY mixed freight with mainly box cars, tank cars, & hoppers)
I went to Stony Brook Acres in Westford with the hopes of catching some activity on the Stony Brook section of Pan Am's freight main. When I arrived, the signals at CPF-307 W were on but displaying a stop indication. Then I noticed a train sitting on the opposite side of the grade.
After awhile of idling and no chatter from D2, the conductor got out to stretch, so I went over and started talking to him. He had no idea when D2 would be letting him go and had been waiting awhile so he decided to go over to the farm and get ice cream. I went with him, got some ice cream, and we sat and chatted for awhile.
Eventually, the signals changed to an approach indication, so the conductor went back over to his train and I went over to my spot to catch him departing. The power turned out to be an incredible lashup consisting of a CSXT ES40DC, CW60AC, CW44AC, & 3 "pre-owned" MEC SD40-2s in fresh PAR paint for a total of 23,400 HP pulling 88 mixed cars. The combo of engines throttling up sounded great.

Thanks! This isn't actually a CSX line. It's the Stony Brook segment of Pan Am's freight main at CPF-307. This train just had CSX run through power which stays on from Lowell, MA to Worcester, MA. In Worcester the train became a Q427 until Selkirk, NY.
As far as traffic, there are no regularly scheduled trains on this line. Everything is an extra. Trains per day range from 0 to 8.

Thanks! This was actually filmed awhile back, so it must have been a different train with the same combo of MEC power.

I had actually talked to that conductor before in Chelmsford, which is why he didn't think it was weird when I went to the ice cream stand with him lol.
