A few simple alternatives to the guillotine choke. These are especially useful when the choke doesn't sink deep enough quickly. Rather than wasting time and energy squeezing, just move on. Demonstration is done slowly - as always please be careful with your partner.

  • I like, I like!...Hmm you have given me some ideas kuya, lol..mind if I borrow your concepts?

  • Absolutely borrow and share! I'm sick of seeing guys waste 10 minutes trying to get a guillotine.

Of course, I prefer to just pull a blade when I'm on the ground... =)

  • excellent work Guru John!

  • My sentiments exactly...as my daddy always said " when you get put ont he ground you better get back up quick or it's lights out".....amen to that....I call it shanking tie...to many bad things can happen down there and looking for a choke hold isn't my idea of getting back up.

  • Great stuff!
