READ THIS! Hey folks, i finally did it! This is the first No Mercy TAS i think. At least its the first ive ever seen.

Anyways this was played at speeds varying from 1/10 to 1/2, but besides that no cheats were used. It looks like i have god mode on a few times but youll note that if that were the case you wouldn't see the red damage arrows.

This was played on easy, on a PC with console commands "exec survivors" and "host_timescale .2". "exec survivors" is a config file i made which deletes the survivor bots. "host_timescale" allows you to control the speed. I slowed it down to 1/10 actual speed at the slowest and 1/2 speed at the fastest.

This run isn't that good, but i just made it to jumpstart the Left 4 Dead TASing community. This game is way to easy to TAS for us to not be making crazy shit.

This could all be done on 360, technically.

  • You lost time on the elevator and chopper, but I suppose that can't be helped without savestates. Find out what memory address shows when they arrive and watch it, maybe?

  • @SylvanLynch yeah, i should have had my back to the door of the elevator/chopper. this is just WIP though, a rough draft. next time i may just defend those positions(except the chopper, since i need to glitch the 2 tanks)

  • Looks really good so far! I'd like to see it with sound as well. My only "advice" (if it can be called that) would be to shoot the zombies from a bit further away, instead of letting them get right up to you before killing (some of) them. The reason is, as they're falling, their models can block you and hold you up for a minute, but once they're on the ground, they don't block you. I saw a couple times where you got hung up on one (very short times!), and that could be optimized. Good job!

  • @Daggerhart i noticed this as well, but im not sure if it makes a real difference. in 1/10 speed, when the zombie model hits your model, it seems like you stop moving for a second, but then at 1/1 speed it doesnt slow you at all. i think the model is still walk-throughable, but the game has to render it going through you or something. thx for the advice tho

  • I made it in 10:55 on Expert, timescaled to 25%.

    CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

  • I would always look around on the ladder part

  • @soulhunger1 thanks for the feedback!

  • At about 1:43 you get hit, which slows you down. You could take some corners a bit tighter. You could have gotten in the elevator sooner. Small mistakes like that add up. Not that you should restart the run for small mistakes like that, but they're still there.

It's also not on Expert, which I think TASes should always be, but that's just my opinion.
