Soundstud.io ProTools Tip - Setting Default EQ and Dynamic Plugins

In this video, we are going to talk about configuring a default EQ and Compressor plugin. This makes them available for quick assignment appearing at the top of the Insert selector pop-up menu in both the Mix and Edit windows.

Follow along to set up your default EQ and compression plugins.

First select the "Set up" menu and select preferences.

From the preference window, Click the Mixing tab

Using the drop down menu select your desired default EQ and Dynamics plugin. In this example I am going to choose the EQ and dynamics plugins that comes standard with Pro Tools but any favorite EQ and Dynamic can be assigned.

Click the OK button to apply the changes.

Next lets go to the Mix window to make sure our defaults are showing up correctly.

By clicking on the insert you should now see your default EQ and Dynamics defaults appear at the top. This works in both the Mix and Edit windows.
