IMO the fighter jet will be only useful for ground attacks on insurgents, or threats from low tech neighbors such as Afghanistan. For any serious threat, Iran has to rely on missiles with something more than conventional warheads (biological, chemical, perhaps later nuclear) - e.g. to deter Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Turkey. For US threats, anti-ship missiles can easily sink a few tankers in the strait of Hormuz and stop the flow of oil, without even needing to attack military ships.
@HIVkillsAnalDivers So you think that if there are arid areas in a country, it makes the people stupid ? Isn't California the high tech mecca in the USA, despite its arid climate and deserts ? And FYI, Iran is a mountaineous country with deserts, steppe, as well as dense forests (along the Caspian) and not unlike Calfornia or the Western US states. Are you feeling pissed that "camel jockeys" can build jet fighters ?
Wow!!! Awesome, the camel jockeys and sand demons have learned to built a little plane. Awwwww how cute. Maybe they should first plant some grass or maybe a couple of trees in the god forsake desert of theirs. LOL.
Defeating a country is way easier than defeating a guerillia movement. Air superiority over Iran would be established in a matter of days/hours. Remember the US grinding up the worlds fourth largest army (Iraq) in a matter of days?
Buth why would the US or any other country want to attack Iran? Universal economic sanctions would be far more effective (given Iran pisses-off China and Russia)
Chuck Yeager said that F-20 was the best aicraft ever made, so I don't understand why Saeqeh should fail. If they give it a good radar and good missiles, it will be able to match with F-16s
according to actual combat information two F5-E s can challenge and F15, so assuming Saeqeh is not much better F5-E, it is worth half an F15
