This is my return commute, with all the slow bits edited out. It is fun in winter, when all the cats stare back at you. This makes it seem scary, but it is actually less dangerous than the road alternative, through Lockleaze.

If you saw the place in northern ireland where my family came from, then you'd know what bad is. In lockleaze you get left alone unless you go looking for trouble, whereas in county armargh, the outsider with the wrong accent is in danger, even today. That said, I have had bad experiences on shaldon road on a bike from time to time.
Your area has the best offroad north of the river, we just need some decent mountain biking routes put in on the downhills. And something done to dry the mud up!
