On the eve of the concert featuring Shakira at the kick-off of the World Cup, hundreds of African children will dance the 'Waka Waka - This time for Africa' and kick the ball to get all children into school as part of the Save the Children-backed 1GOAL campaign.
On the 9th of June, In Dakar, Senegal, over 1,200 teachers, students and parents in sports kits march with sport celebrities such as Salif Diao, Senegal-born football player in England. Together with Save the Children-supported Africa Network Campaign on Education for All (ANCEFA), they call on the African governments to ensure no child is denied access to free and quality education.
