Just thinking about Darrow's defense makes me angry.
The killers should have hanged. Darrow basically wanted everybody to excuse the murder because they were "made that way" and to feel sorry for the two psychopaths that viciously and gleefully killed Bobby Franks for a thrill. He rambled on about how inhumane the death penalty was (which is irrelevant) and whipped up a whirlwind of emotion in the judge, in order to blot out any thought of the victim. Shame on him.
