  • does grand master lim in canada

  • No, he lives in Daegu, South Korea. He is the founder of the JungKiKwan, that was the organization Choi, Yong Sool joined after he stoped teaching n 1978. He was a member of the until he died in 1986. There are only 8 schools under him in the US, he's very cautious about who he allows to train under him. I belong to Houston branch of the JungKiKwan.

  • IDMA, You train under master Jason? I am presently training under Master Lacava from connecticut. we Just got back from Korea in November. Quite a ride : ) You train Kuhapdo as well?

  • I am Jason. We shoould have a group going to Korea this year. It's probably the best experience any practitioner of Hapkido can have.

  • some great films you have here : )

  • Thank You.

  • Ha! good to hear Master Mike. This was filmed via VHS from an 8 mm film. There were 8 total if I remember right. Mike set up his screen, loaded up his 8mm film, and refilmed it using his VHS camera. He was describing the techniques to me and a fellow student.

  • Blue Stone for life!

  • who are the other 2 9th dan's?

  • This footage was taken by Michael Wollmershauser, which was my teacher. The voice you hear is his voice when he visited Korea to train with Grand Master Choi Young Sool.

  • This is incorrect, GM Lim has never lived in America. He has lived in Daegu, S Korea his entire lif. There were only three ninth dans given by Choi, two of which still teach. To say that someone learned more than the highest ranking GM is simple opinion. Just because he's your master doesn't mean he knows more than any other Choi student. GM Lim trained longer than any other student. When Choi stopped teaching he himself joined the JungKiKwan.
