Dinesh D'Souza and Christopher Hitchens go at it again at the 2008 Freedom Fest as the "Main Event".

FreedomFest is an annual festival where "free minds meet" to celebrate "great books, great ideas, and great thinkers" in an open-minded society. It is independent, non-partisan, and not affiliated with any organization or think tank.

Founded and produced by Mark Skousen, since 2002, FreedomFest invites the "best and the brightest" from around the world to talk, strategize, socialize, and celebrate liberty. FreedomFest is open to all and is purely egalitarian, where speakers, attendees, and exhibitors are treated as equals.

Christopher Hitchens (born 1949) is an author, journalist and literary critic. Currently living in Washington, D.C., he has been a columnist at Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation, Slate, Free Inquiry, and a variety of other media outlets. Hitchens is also a political observer, whose books — the latest being "God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything" — have made him a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits.

In 2009 Hitchens was listed by Forbes magazine as one of the "25 most influential liberals in U.S. media." The same article noted, though, that he would "likely be aghast to find himself on this list" and that he "styles himself a radical", not a liberal.

  • @Jaskasll To be proud of what we are apart of. Nature. Carrying the flag of rationality, no invisible things, science and reason is the flag we carry. If that bothers you, oh well. Until YOUR god shows up, we will continue with it. You will not understand the stance of an atheist if you consistently think we believe in nothing. We believe in one another, we believe in the universe. Tangible things, we believe in. That's all it takes is an appreciation for the universe without hopes.

  • @SuperTruthlover to bad retards like you are allowed to live in the real world

  • @SuperTruthlover He is already. And no, I think you should trade his place

  • this guy should die

  • @Keeban3 Well too bad becuz you couldn't understand a word I said. And if you believed me & my lighter to be divine, then you'd be sadly mistaken. Even if you could understand what I was communicating, would you believe me if I told you I was the son of god who is actually god who sacrificed myself to myself to be your savoir from myself and I'd send you to hell for not believing? Makes perfect sense!

  • @utubepunk

If I am a caveman, and you have a lighter produced out of a society of technology, I'll listen to whatever you have to say.

  • @Keeban3 Picture this. You're a cave man. Then I walk up to you and produce a small lighter & flick it on. MAGIC! While I would get a hardy laugh from you worshiping me, I am by no means divine. So where is this real magic you speak of? So far, is it the stuff of myth & fantasy and has yet to be proven.

  • @utubepunk

How else could you prove divinity except by magic? And how else could you explain real magic except by divinity (and by magic I mean purposeful manipulation of reality to break the laws of physics)?

  • @Keeban3 LOL. Okay. Well keep your real magic detector fully charged & handy at all times. Ya never know when it might come in handy. And how exactly do you know if your magic detector really works? Have you've ever encountered "real" magic. Someone like Hitchens has been around the world & hasn't mentioned ever encountering real magic or anything supernatural. So even if you grant all the miracles, that still doesn't prove divinity.
