The Misfits - 20 Eyes (Plan 9 Version)

"Walk Among Us", The Misfits' first album, was meant to be released on Glenn Danzig's own label, called "Plan 9 Records", but they got a record deal with "Ruby Records". They forced them, to rerecord the song material they had for the album. The original release was meant to have a different sound and a different track list.
Parts of the recording session for the Plan 9 version were remastered and released on the third disc of "The Misfits Box Set". This is the first track of the original Plan 9 release of "Walk Among Us", recorded 1981.

the remastered version blows! punk was meant to sound dirty! why remaster a beautiful thing? this new one has absolutely no energy or soul, or really anything I like anout the misfits in it! what was danzig thinking?

As far as I'm concerned Glenn didn't remaster those sessions, but I'm not sure. But the reason they were remastered is, that they were released on a Box Set. Most people would bitch about the dirty sound, 'cause it's an official release and I can understand that. The guys who want to hear the real recordings know enough about the recording sessions etc to find the original recording somewhere, so I can't see where the problem is.
