There is a common misperception that Rachel Alexandra has not faced good 3 year old fillies. Well, just in this race, there was Bon Jovi Girl, who has since won a stakes at Calder in very fast time over the Black-Eye-Susan winner. Additionally, this race featured Just Jenda, a multiple graded stakes placed filly. In the Fair Grounds Oaks she beat Four Gifts, winner of the graded Eight Belles, and Flying Spur. Gabbys Golden Gal, crushed by Rachel in the Oaks,won the gr.1 Acorn next out.

is that really relative? Maybe RA wasnt yet her solid self at two, but then again, how many times did Zen race as a 2-year-old? Oh, wait...she didnt race at all at two. She won her first race in November of her 3-year-old season. I absolutely LOVE Zen, shes fantastic, but WILL PEOPLE PLEASE STOP BASHING RACHEL. For Christs sake shes a damn good horse, too. No need to find faults in her every race. Maybe Zen was perfect in victories, but thats not the only thing that makes a horse great.

@HollywoodParkSteward I was mistaken about Bon Jovi Girl winning stakes at Calder. Yes, she won them at Delaware(I was confused because there are Susan's Girl stakes at Calder and Delaware). But does it really matter?. Fact is, Bon Jovi Girl is a stakes winner! Fact is, GGGal is a 2 time gr.1 stakes winner, beating Proviso in the gr.1 Santa Monica. And the 2 fillies Rachel beat by 20 in the Mother Goose, well Flashing is a 2 time gr.1 winner and Malibu Prayer is a gr.1 winner. What con?

Jordan- LMFAO!!!!!!! Great con, but it isn't true! Bon Jovi Girl- It was Delaware-not Calder- the only stakes races the BJG ever won were in Delware. OUTSIDE of Delaware, THAT was the only race she won in 2009! Just Jenda- she has been off the board in every race since August of last year. GGGal- She won the Acorn- and was dead last after that- twice. Where is the Kentucky Oaks field? Flying Spur and Stone Legacy, A Fleet D are now in allowence and claiming races.
