Sacred Harp singers from around Georgia gathered July 18, 2009 for the 7th annual All Day Sacred Harp Singing at Spivey Hall at Clayton State University in Morrow. More than 65 people attended the all-day event, which started at 10 a.m. and continued until 3 p.m. Singers take turns leading the group in pieces from a songbook first published in Georgia in 1844.

Nice clip but the sound level seems very low.

Very nice! I especially enjoyed seeing Hugh McGraw, who has done so much to bring this music to people all over who otherwise might never have known it existed, let alone, learned to sing it. Anyone wanting to see/hear more samples (free) can put 'Sacred Harp singing' into the Youtube search engine. Most of the postings are amateur videos, not technically as good as this one, but many viewers find them inspiring. If it's OK with this channel, I'll post one of mine as a 'response.'
