anyone know if i could run my 1996 mk3 golf on veg oil, its a basic 1.9 deisel no turbo
-
@adamslurch71 depends on the car you have. new high pressure diesel engines are designed to give birth at the slightest hardship. so it really depends what it is running and running on

alzheimer ?

I don't get why people feel the need tot pay for extra crap to carry around with them in their cars. I have a Diesel running on SVO, no extra tank, no heater system or anything, just put it into the tank and run it, its lasted over 150K Miles with no problems. Don't believe the hype about a heater system, its not needed.

well done.
Articulate and clearly explained.

in the uk we pay road tax and its about 120£ a year plus the rate of tax on the fuel we run the car on is a 70%....the goverment wont let us use svo without paying that 70%... if we dont pay were breaking the law and they will take your car off you
Who gives a fuck wat it smells like. Free fuel, nice.

Vegetable oil is awesome, got some experience myself. Maybe about 10,000 miles so far. Drove 700 this weekend. WARNING> Change your engine oil more frequently ! Especially in a VW, some call for 10,000 mile oil changes.......not with veg oil. Change your engine oil 3000 miles or less or you will be screwing up your valves, friend of mine fryed his Passat Engine not having changed his oil more frequently then requested. Also, use a little marvel mystery oil in your motor oil to clean.
