How woul dyou rate ARMA 2 vs old school Operation Flashpoint? This game looks awesome but I hear it has some quirks, is that true???

Don't worry, ArmA 2 isn't going away when you wait, to the contrary it's getting better thanks to patches and mods that get developed in the meantime.

Dragon Rising was not made by the guys who made OFP: CWC (and ArmA 1+2), they merely have the rights to the name and nothing more than that. Plus because they have mistreat their community in various ways, it's mostly dead a mere two months after release. Wasn't nice to watch...

that explosion wasnt from the A-10 it was from a rocket to the right of you.

You're probably listening to the wrong explosion. The one from the A-10 isn't loud, it's straight ahead and sounds very distant. The one from the rocket, a couple seconds later, sounds like it's close and to the right...because it is. ;)

Just use headphones if your listening with cheap speakers.

Love the randomness of Operation Flashpoint and ARMA games... Best thing Ive seen on OFP was two apache helicopters colliding in mid air and falling onto my squad.

note the sound delay used as well....due to the explosion being about 200-300m away (and sound travelling at 600mph).

Arma is an interesting game to me, it's not as well known, its PC exclusive so you need a computer I don't have. It's extremely utilitarian at some parts: it doesn't have very detailed texture and overall crude and ugly graphics. But it allows greater expanse than other co-operative strategic shooters, and it has a sense of formality to it, the vehicles are all near mil-spec simulation, the missions aren't abstract area control or involve blowing up alarm boxes. It's war without motive or blood.

@EllisDeeRules Dude that was a year ago now I run an Overclocking computer at 4GB of RAM, Intel Core i7 2600k @ 5.2GHz (Overcharge on air!) and 2 AMD Radeon HD5970's It cost a lot but it was worth the money. Now I can't lag!!!! :D
