hey man... if the pole from the hi hat stand is in the way you should look into just buying a shorter one... they have them at like any music store

Ya...I have never seen them any size other than standard...but I have since taken a bolt cutter and lobbed off about a foot or so of mine and then sanded down the end. BzB :-)

I'm starting out on drums but think I'm pretty decent. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a kit but what do you think would be a good electric kit for recording? By the way awesome drumming.

Thanks man...I will tell you what I tell everyone that asks this...Stick with Roland Products in whatever price range you plan to spend. That is truly the best advice you can get. And dont forget to see what is on e-bay...your money will usually go a lot further there. BzB :-)
