holy shit that sounds sweet

That sounds great! I'm only listening on a laptop... I need to check this in my studio, or on headphones. What is the modification on ORTF? It's REALLY wide, but it sounds mono-compatible (I'd have to check it to know for sure).
I really should check out a pair of Peluso CEMC6. Never heard of them tell now. Do you have recording that isn't so compressed (lossy, youtube compression), or so you know of another recording that uses them as overheads that is?
Great job man!
Cheers!

I start with ORTF then test record and listen back to see if anything needs adjustment. For this clip: the mics are slightly narrower than 110 degrees b/c mics are closer to the source.

In which way ORTF setup is modified?
-
3-mic set up: Overheads: pair of SDCs with 20mm Cardioid caps. Modified ORTF position just behind and above the drummer's head - angled toward toms. Audio Technica AE-2500 on the bass drum. For Recorderman method, watch my video with Glyn Johns set up.

Hello,
How many mics are on this kit? And where are they positioned? Is it the recorderman positioning? Also are the overheads Cardiod or Omnis?
Thank you!

Thank you. Originally recorded in 48/24 but got crunched down to YouTubes low def.
this is pure CEMC6s? I just ordered the matched pair package for acoustic guitar. Will be trying them on overheads too. Do you like them more than the Shure sm81?
great video by the way..

Tnx. the OH are CEMC6s with an AT AE2500 in the Bass drum. sm81s are great too, but I prefer the Peluso's in rooms with low ceilings.
I've used the CEMC6 on acoustic and they are great- especially combined with a ribbon. Post some clips when you get yours. Cheers! -Rez

My path for recording is Mics to preamp (in your case mixer), mixer out to computer's soundcard. Record in a program like Cubase. Does that answer your question?
