This video cast shows how the self-similarity properties of batik motif, the traditional textile ornaments from Java-Indonesia, conjectured to have geometry of fractals. Furthermore, the iterated function system can also be employed to understand some basic motif of the batik. This explains the non conventionality in the traditional patterns - a thing shows how the modern mathematical approaches explains fascinating traditional heritages. The video is subtitled in Indonesian without prior intention to limit audience.
