SUNDARBANS, INDIA. November 8 to 13, 2009
Organised by Sanctuary Asia-Bengal Tiger Line-Wildlife Conservation Trust, in association with Sundarban Tiger Reserve-Sundarban BioSphere Reserve-NTCA, with field partners WPSI (Wildlife Protection of India), WWF India, TSRD & ICNL
This was just the first of many very public events that the Bengal Tiger Campaign is planning for the Sundarbans. No place on earth was considered safer for the tiger than the Sundarbans, but with climate change upon us, both tiger and man seemed headed for conflict, between themselves and with nature. In time humans will be forced to leave these low-lying areas, but before they do this hopefully they will not first have pushed the tiger into oblivion.
