@sh4rkbyt3 It may not be a conspiracy but its BAD journalism if you blame someone who is not the cause of the problem. In this case probably the ISP did not support Linux officially which of course doesnt mean that it wont work. It just means you have no "user friendly router installer" provided by your ISP.
They did not point out that correctly in the original video. The Video was like "Ubuntu is not windows so it doesnt work"... which is Bull...*

@NJdaniels96 if she applys for an online class she probably doesnt live in such a high populated area. So there may not be that many techie friends that know Linux or Ubuntu. And depending on year this must have been Ubuntu was not as well known as today.

I DO understand the angry Mob against the News channel because the original story really seemed to blame Ubuntu for being not compatible enough with a Windows Software...
...but stop herassing the poor girl on facebook... It's not her fault her ISP is just incompetent and officially only supports windows...
The story is a little old and i'm wondering what's up today. Has she bought a new Windows Laptop or a Mac or has she gotten comfortable with Ubuntu? Does someone have an answer?

Well, if you are not trying to enrage people, why saying "for a relatively low profile operating system" with a subtle condescending (sounding?) laugh without ever giving a reason why it should be "low profile" nor explaining what that even means?
Also, why did we never actually hear about what she wanted to do and couldn't?
And lastly, come on. She drops out of a technical college because she couldn't ask anybody there to help her?
-
She didn't think of calling a friend who knows computers before going to the news?

How is it possible that women can't do anything right, and they even throw a tantrum about it when it's clearly their fault?

Wow, a person dropped out of college because they had Linux on they're computer? Wow. In my own opinion, maybe this person should have done a little more research before taking an action as drastic as dropping out of school just because they bought a computer with Linux on it. Personally though, I do prefer Ubuntu over Windows.
