Rebuild is supposed to have a completely new ending, so we'll just have to wait and see.

fine, but that still isn;'t going to make me like it enough to watch it, unless Asuka's outcome is better than it was in the orginal, otherwise Rebuild is dead to me.

It's a sequel SLASH Alternate universe... hence why the world is very similar to the ending of EoE, and Kaworu mentions that Shinji never changes.

I mean come on they CHANGED Asuka's last name from sorhyu to shikinami, I smell Rei fan influence in that. and if they changed her name, well they are prob going to have far worse things done to Asuka in rebuild than they did in the Original

no its not, its just a rehash of the Orginal, unless you want to take alternate universe stuff into the mix. and to tell you the truth there could be a 2nd series, I mean the ending was so vague, and the possibilities were endless. and frankly it would have appeased more fans than the other way around
