The Cape Henlopen Ferry

Received a Battle star.

With a capacity of 90 vehicles and 900 passengers, The Cape Henlopen at 327 ft long
is the longest in the Cross Sound fleet. The
boat was originally built as the World War II
tank-landing ship, USS LST 510, and landed
on Omaha Beach during the Battle of
Normandy invasion, Following her military
retirement, she was converted to a civilian
ferry.

  • I've never ridden on the Cross Sound at night...had to be kinda cool in the dark choppy waters!

  • the weather was really rough that night

    many boats got washed up
