The 'One Drop Rule' is Destructive to African Americans

What african americans need to realise is that by sticking to the one drop rule as a way to classify race, you are effectively watering down the black race. In a hundred years or so years you will have 90% of the 'african american' community looking like Mariah Carrey.

@fugyoutoo They water down the black race because they aren't black. Once you get past the quadroon (1/4 black), the offspring is more white genetically & phenotypically. That is why throughout history & even today you have many mixed people who clearly look more white, but are considered black.

And why is everyone worried about the black/white mix? There are a lot more white/asian mixes/offsprings around. Soon America and Europe will look like Asia with all the white men ordering asian mail order brides.

All Americans (who are not direct immigrants from recent generations) are mutts. A lot of white "purist" Americans most likely have a certain % of black ancestry.

I don't support the "1 drop rule", but have 2 questions. 1) Isn't it only the definition of blackness/whiteness that is being affected, vs the actual populations? Basically the "white genes" are introduced into the black population, but those genes/offspring aren't reclaimed by the white population. 2) If all genetically mixed offspring are immediately disowned by both parent races, are they considered mulatto or is each specific mix a different race?

Race is a distraction tool, nothing more/nothing less. MASTER YOUR CRAFT and be weary of any and all. Especially ppl who try to put you in a category of anything other than GREAT. That's the only race I'm that matters anymore. Your are either GREAT or your not.

@fugyoutoo You clearly not understanding he is right, they are not black they are mixed race, the one drop rule is not a point of you it is a point of law. It's not racist it is a mathematical fact.
