How To Ship a Guitar (or "Pack a guitar for shipping")

This video lesson is a teaching about the proper way to pack a guitar for shipping. There are two(2) methods with easy steps. One explains how to ship it with a case, the other, with out a case. These methods apply to acoustic, electric, bass or classical guitars.

A few items will be needed:
1) Clear shipping tape
2) Bubble wrap
3) Guitar shipping box
4) Permanent marker
5) News paper

Method #1 packing with a case

a) put some news paper crushed up in the bottom of the box. Enough o absorb the shock when the delivery person roughs things up a bit.

b) Place the guitar in it's case and use crushed news paper again in any of the void areas. Don't jam pack the paper, just add enough to absorb the shaking around that may occur.
c)Latch the case and apply some small pieces of clear shipping tape over the latches.

d) Place the guitar in the box, these are both acoustic in the video.

e) Now add more crushed news paper all around the void areas of the shipping box.

f) Tape it up good and mark FRAGILE !!!
all over the box.

Method # 2 Guitars without a case

1)Wrap the guitar, acoustic, electric, bass or classical in bubble wrap. use the clear tape to secure it. Don't put so much on it that the person receiving the guitar is overwhelmed trying to remove all of the tape.

2) Just follow all of the above methods for packing a guitar that we mentioned in the first illustration.

These methods are a lot easier than one might think. If I had to call your attention to one of the most important pieces of this puzzle, it would be the box. Getting a guitar box from the music store is a must in order for this project to go smoothly.

This teaching showing the proper way to ship a guitar is really only a few minutes long and very informative. Set back and enjoy these guitar shipping methods. It is actually pretty funny to watch!
