Pacific Bell was a pretty decent company. Even when it was purchased by SBC it stayed pretty good and reliable. Only when SBC purchased AT&T and changed over to AT&T and became the defacto monopoly in the western half of the united states did the fucking company and service turn into the piece of fucking shit it is today.

ISDN? That was slower than today's broadband net connections. It was considered to be the fastest and most affordable net connection for commercial use at that time, aside from dial-up.

The fastest ISDN was I think either 56 or 64 kbps! That seemed like a screamin' deal back in the day!

Oh yeah, today's stuff is much faster. That was a big deal back then to be online without tying up your voice line.
