whenever im home alone i crank my blues jr, volume on 12 master on 12 fat switch on and it sounds amazing, so glad i went with a 15 watt amp i wouldnt have been able to do that with a deluxe =)

@xXlopoXx use a pedal

were U not tempted with the P reverb, its a better sounding amp

I think the HRDx is the best amp for the money myself, its a little more than the blues jn, but its got a much better clean sound, more jangle and punchy, I like the BJ thou and for the money their is no other amp can keep up with it clean, U get a vox for that price and put them side by side clean channel, and vox are meant to be more jangle, I don't think they are, fender have the best clean sound full stop

what is the song he plays at 2:20

This amplifiers distortion is quite limited. What would you do if you needed a significantly higher amount of distortion?

@gr8bluesgtr I have a Blues Junior & I crank the master to get those tubes hot & use the volume to adjust how loud the overall sound is, whether I'm @ practice or a gig. You get a better clean tone that way & it breaks up nice.
what's the difference between volume and master volume, which one do I havve to dial down without losing a nice tube saturation

@MrNebelful If an amp has two knobs, and one is the master volume, it will usually be called "Master" or "Master Volume". To get distortion at low levels, you need to crank the preamp Volume and turn down the Master volume.

Hi there, good review.
A couple of questions : In your review, you said it gives 80% of what you need. Would getting the other 20% entail getting a hold of a bigger, heavier, louder, more expensive amp?
It's now over a year ago that you did this review, do you still use it or have you found something else you're going with instead?
Lastly, would you still recommend it for home and small gig use?
Thanks for your time. :)

@Chord5 I use a Samamp VAC 23 as my main amp these days because it's simply a better amp. The Blues Junior is now my excellent practice amp.

First I would like to say thank you for your lesson! they're really great!
Secondly, I wanted to know how quite you mean when you say whisper quiet. What I want to know is if I could get nice saturated (I realize it would be preamp tube saturation) at volumes suitable for an apartment.
Thanks

@davecolat When I say whisper quiet, I'm referring to a volume level that would be suitable if someone were asleep in the next room in your apartment and you wouldn't wake them up.
