HiDef- November Amtrak Action in Selma, NC: P40DC's, S&HC's, The Auto Train & More!

[Watch In High Definition]

Throughout the month of November, I went out to Selma, NC along the CSX A-Line to do railfanning. This individual video focuses on most of North Carolina's Amtrak Service including the Auto Train, Silver Star, Silver Meteor, Caroinian, and Palmetto. (Trains 89, 90, 91, 92, 97, and 53 are included). You'll get 2 "Shave and a Haircuts", a pair of restored P40DC's on the Auto Train, and much more in this video. In the first 2 minutes, I show you aroud Selma, to give you a feel for the area.

11/6/11
9:24a- Amtrak's Northbound Silver Star Train #92 creeps its way onto the CSX A-Line just coming off the NS from Raleigh.

11:08a- Amtrak's Northbound Carolinian Train #80 makes its way by with a nice "S&HC" performed by the engineer. Nice K5LA on the lead unit!

1:59pm- Amtrak's Northbound Palmetto Train #90 speeds by a private crossing in N. Selma right on time.

2:43pm- Running a few minutes ahead of schedule, Amtrak's Southbound Palmetto Train #89 speeds by N. Selma. Nice Hybrid K5LA on the leader!

4:06pm- Amtrak's Southbound Carolinian Train #79 goes from Track #2 to Track #1 where it will prepare to take the connection track onto the NS mainline to Raleigh and points South. Engineer Karl gives a nice wave while his trainee works the radio.

8:24pm- Amtrak's Southbound Silver Star Train #91 creeps thru the Selma Station and past the caboose that's on display. Great K5LA on the lead P42!

12:32am- Amtrak's Southbound Silver Meteor Train #97 comes thru Selma and pounds the NS-CSX diamond. Note Bailey Feeds, a grain elevator serving both CSX & NS provides the backdrop for this clip.

1:56pm- Amtrak's Northbound Palmetto Train #90 makes it's way past a fall-color filled N. Selma. The month of November is perfect for fall foliage here. Great K5LA on the leader!

11:03a- Amtrak's Northbound Carolinian Train #80 throttles up out of Selma right on time. Next stop, Wilson, NC.

9:03pm- Amtrak's Southbound Auto Train #83 pounds the Diamond at Selma Station. Nice long train! 2 units, 16 Superliners, 25 Autoracks.

12:33am- Amtrak's Southbound Silver Meteor Train #97 makes its way thru Selma with a great Hybrid K5LA. Went for a "Silhoutte" effect here. Turned out nice.

3:17pm- Amtrak's Southbound Palmetto Train #89 comes under the N. Selma signal bridges (soon to be replaced). Nice wave from the conductor!
