USC vs. Hawaii 2010

Matt Barkley and Ronald Johnson connected on three touchdowns to make Lane Kiffin a winner in his first game as Southern California coach. No. 14 USC beat Hawaii 49-36 on Thursday night to start the post-Pete Carroll era. Barkley passed for 257 yards and tied a school record with five TD passes while Johnson matched a USC mark with his three TD catches. Johnson also returned a punt 89 yards for another score in USC's first game after being hit with sanctions by the NCAA that include a postseason ban this season. Johnson's two scores in the third quarter, a 3-yard catch and the punt return, helped break the game open for the Trojans (1-0), who took a 42-23 lead into the fourth. September 2, 2010.

@HistateSpunjah that doesnt prove nothin 2 me nevada shouldnt even be ranked. at the end of the year if they play a top 10 team an beat then come talk 2 me 6-2 its the wac divsion obviously there the best team in the wac but wac has no competion to bcs teams.name me players that hav a gud carrers from wac moving to the pros?

@Kamakazi242012 if the citadel dropped 36 points on any bcs conf. opponent i would like to at least see one score,you see the highlights and you think"wow Hawaii mustve gotten stomped on" it was way closer than what the highlights would suggest.

@1959hwnelcamino Yeah a loss is a loss. BUt what do you expect? We're not full of 4 and 5 star athletes like USC. Hawaii would have to play near Perfect Football while USC played crappy. 49-36 is impressive. Not a win, but impressive.

@Pacrin1 That's why we're Number 1 in the WAC and trounced Fresno and upset 19 Nevada? Nothing to do with luck. And when you put up 36 points through the air against USC, that ain't luck. It ain't luck our O-Line kept the pressure off of Moniz from USC's D. It ain't luck Moniz torched USC through the air. It ain't luck that we put up 36 points. Sure we lost, but it ain't luck.

@Nero49er I'm from Hawaii but come on now, man. No one on the mainland wants to see Hawaii. USC is in the Top 25, we're not. Hell at the time we were projected to finish at the bottom of the WAC. I mean, when you're watching sportscenter and you see Florida or some other top team playing against Citadel or someone, do you care about the other team? lol

@HistateSpunjah dude did u see the full game on easy plays they couldnt even takle the running back i seen a play that shoulda been a takle for atleast 5 yards he broke like 5 takles behind the line an ran for like a 50-60 touchdown uh got 36 points by luck uh suks dude face that fact i mean there in the wac an barely get a winning season..... they make some nice plays don get me wrong but face it there not relly that gud.
