This is a spiritual (folk) song of Nekrasov Cossacks perfromed by the parisheners of the Old Rite Church of the Holy Trinity.

A rock lies amidst the ocea,
A church stands on that rock.
In that church there's an altar.
A book lies on that altar...
The book of the New Testament.
Two angels are reading it...
Two angels and three archangels.
Mother Mary stands infront of them.
She cries and morns in sorrow
But they beg her:

The Jews took my son,
Took Him and crucified Him.
They put a crown of thorns on His head.
They gave him wine and vinegard to drink.

The video shows Solovetsky monastery and what happened when the monks refused to accept the novelties of Patriarch Nikon. The song itself is obviously not about that but I think the video and the song relate to each other, since Christ gave an example for all the martyrs to come.

What's wrong with the lyrics? The lyrics say "THE Jews", which means not jews as a nation but particular jews (pharisees and high priests), who took Christ and demanded Him to be killed.

The lyrics are simply describing what all Christians believe happened. The Gospels say Christ was killed by the Jews just as this song does.

What people are misunderstanding is the word used for Jews in this song (жиды) is considered derogatory in modern Russian, but in Old Church Slavonic (medieval Russian) it was the standard word and had no negative connotation. I'm going to guess that since this song is being sung by Old Believers, it most likely predates modern Russian.

Yes. But enemies of Russia will use such things to raise hatred against her. FOX network broadcasts 'Charity Advertizing' showing poor Jews in Russia...as if they were worse off than poor Russians. Its all very cleverly done and effective.

Under Stalin's rule, more clergy were killed (over 50,000) by far than the number of Jews killed in the pogroms.

Yes, us backwards Orthodox need the communists to show us enlightenment.
