  • A disability is a condition that hinders normal bodily function. So, yes, diabetes IS a disability.

  • I wish we had those kinds of ads here in the states. I've lost a few jobs because of my disabilities, and it's difficult to ask for simple accomodation.

  • YOu have got to stop thinking anybody cares. THats is for certain. Its all very well havign these equal rights acts but that is just paperwork at the end of the day. EMployers can treat people like shit and nobody will care

  • Whoever disliked this video are sick minded individuals...

  • @dstebbin Wow, that's so awesome. You couldn't have been fired for being a miserable son of a bitch could you? To many people use their disability as a crutch, no pun intended.

  • If someone gets a job with tourettes, the symptoms being unable to concentrate or understand properly, what would the boss do to help?

  • @electrogeek77 How's this:

    Ask for an accommodation.

If you don't get it... and get fired, harassed, or loose a promotion because of lack of accommodation, just sue their ass off.

    That's what I'm doing!

  • Diabetes *can be* a disability if it's significant enough to substantially limit one or more of a person's major life activities. With very few exceptions, no specific medical condition can be declared A Disability or Not A Disability under US civil rights law -- it depends on how a condition affects the individual person.

  • @gerryono Diabetes is a disability

  • diabetes isnt a disability

  • Heck I wish we had those kind of ads in Canada as well! I am being forced back to a job I got discriminated in when disability was supposed to get me into a job that was understanding of my limitations .. but I guess I shouldn't complain. At least I can go back since that job has a union (only unionized job I ever had and why they can't get rid of me lol). But I really want to work and only reason they have to work with me is the union or I would be screwed in Canada :(
