Count Basie died in 1984. Swing Kids was made in 1993. Still, they say that if you've got it, it never leaves you.

Personally I think it's a horrible album. Half of the entire album is original score material, which is dreary and boring, and too many of the swing tunes are cheesy sounding renditions like this one.

I suppose it's an okay introduction to swing, but I've found better swing albums released on "bargain" labels in the 10 dollar bin of Zellers.

On CD Universe the personnel that played on the album are listed, but there is no band/orchestra name, which leads me to believe they were assembled just for this session.
