There is a particularly well-made docu-drama called "The Laramie Project" which is available on dvd.It should be played in all educational venues.Thankfully Obama has since included sexual orientation in the Hate Crimes Bill,so that's a step in the right direction.Hope you manage to track down a copy of the dvd,it's well worth watching.

This is what separating people into categories does. People are equal, no matter how different. This shouldn't only be a homophobia case, but a general discrimination case. Right up there with racism, discrimination of disabled people, and what not.

@fenderstrat91 I heard a song called The Fence by Peter Katz telling this story. What a heartfelt song.

Don't fight the trolls... responding with hatred against ignorance achieves nothing. I am Queer, and I wouldn't wish this kind of death upon anyone, gay or straight. This terrible tragedy is mind-boggling, disturbing... horrifying.
Oh yes, I have fought with my own heart over this, anger and revenge is so easy to fall into. But Love, is a much stronger force. Defeat Ignorance with Education and hatred with Love!

you know a lot hasn't been done on this issue when I just learned about this tragedy in my theater class at Virginia Tech. It has been 12 years and I don't ever remember hearing anything about this. This needs to be taught to all kids, it should be considered as part of history. This world needs to change and we need to be more compassionate to one another.
