Since we no longer have annual passes, we got the Costco 4 pack and was finally able to go to Disneyland on a weekend. For the 3 years we've been taking Summer to Disneyland, we've never met Mulan. We heard she is sometimes at Cal Adv on the weekends and rarely at the Princess Faire. Today, the first thing we did was go to Cal Adv and they told us she was not there today. We were really sad, but then we were so lucky to meet her at the Princess Faire. Summer was so happy and excited!

In this video, Summer asks Mulan, "do you speak Chinese?" Mulan says, "a little and I've been practicing my English." Mulan asks Summer if she is from China and Summer replies, "no... I'm from PV." Mulan asks Summer "what is your favorite thing to do while visiting Disneyland?" Summer says "seeing Mulan." Then Summer asks, "where is Mushu?" Mulan says, "let me tell you a secret, he is at Disneyland, going on all the rides." They then talk about the It's a small world ride and if Summer saw her there with Mushu flying a kite. Summer tells Mulan that she has a fairy kite, but it's not Tinkerbelle, another fairy.

Mulan was so sweet and spent a long time talking with Summer. Summer said it was the best part of her day!

There is a second part to this video where Mulan teaches my daughter a watermelon dance.

  • Yes, I know Mulan is Chinese. And yes, kids may not notice tiny details as adults do. I was simply responding to the comment where someone said that this Mulan isn't even Asian. Yes, she was Asian and there is a difference in the "look" between Chinese and Japanese people. I am Chinese, by the way, and I can usually tell the difference. This Mulan was very pretty and I do think she looks like an Asian Taylor Swift. :)

  • This Mulan is Asian. She didn't look Chinese though, I'm pretty sure she was Japanese.

  • @ people wondering: Mulan IS a princess. When the Emperor gave her the medallion and sword, he was giving her the title of 'princess of the people' since she saved them from the Huns. Being the Emperor, he can sorta 'knight' whomever he wants. Although... the Emperor bowed to her for her actions and the people of China considered their Emperor equivalent to a god...

    Okay, you're all right. She's not a princess. She's a GODDESS.

Logic and Disney magic have spoken.
